Register of Deeds office administers notary public oaths for Alleghany County notaries between 8:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.
In addition, the office makes a variety of notary forms available to the general public, including applications for initial appointment, reappointment, and change of name or change of address. These are also available for download from the Secretary of State. You will receive a notice to be sworn in at the Regisiter of Deeds Office. The notary oath fee is $10.00.
