Elections
The Administration of elections is an important element of county government. The principal function of the Alleghany County Elections office is to conduct fair, impartial and efficient elections in compliance with state laws. The office is also responsible for providing all publicly requested statistical and reporting information records for current and past elections.
The duties of the office are administered by Director Kate Cosner under the oversight of the Board of Elections. Board members are: Edmund I. Adams, chairman; Linda Absher, secretary; and Mac Murphy, member.
