Mission Statement

The mission of the Alleghany County Department of Social Services is to promote quality of life, dignity, and respect for all citizens of Alleghany County through competent and compassionate provision of social and economic services, community education, and resource development.

Vision Statement

Our vision is that through excellence in the provision of preventive, supportive, and restorative services children and adults will be protected from abuse and neglect, children will have stable families and safe homes, adults will achieve self sufficiency and independence, and the elderly and disabled will remain in their own homes as long as possible, thus providing a safety net to the most vulnerable citizens in Alleghany County.
