348 South Main St. The Planning Office works at the direction of the Board of Commissioners to research reasonable steps to protect from damage to the county's land and water resources, as well as businesses and dwellings. This is accomplished by the preparation, adoption and administration of plans, rules and regulations that help insure steps have been taken to protect our resources against natural disasters, contamination and poor development. The County Planner is responsible for the administration and enforcement of regulations regarding floodplain management, land subdivision, communication towers, ridge development and watershed protection. Additionally, the office is responsible for providing data, information and professional recommendations to the public and Board of County Commissioners. The County Planner is available during normal working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Contact Information: Travis Dalton, Planner
